Founded in 2014, Long Light Energy (LLE) is a private equity firm dedicated to developing and investing in sustainable infrastructure solutions around the world, with a special focus on renewable energy projects in the United States and South America.
In 2015, LLE Brasil was formed to focus on development and investments in sustainable and green power generation projects. While the initial focus was on distributed solar, LLE Brasil has broadened its efforts to include battery storage, energy efficiency, and limited green hydrogen development.
LLE Brasil is committed to contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) established by the United Nations and believes that a sustainable future is the only societally worthwhile future.

Who we are.
Kayo Soares is LLE Brasil’s Senior Environmental Advisor. He is also CEO and Founder of ARVUT. Kayo provides environmental strategic advice for LLE’s project development, including impact analysis of industry activities, and risk analysis and process improvement to enhance environmental and sustainability metrics for LLE’s projects. Kayo has provided environmental consulting services for over 14 years in Brazil across large scale projects and industries including the management of coastal and ocean works. He is a civil engineer and oceanologist, with a master's degree in physical, chemical and geological oceanography. He was previously a project manager, in the area of Marine Sciences, at Associação Atlantis. He was also a partner at Polar — Intelligence in the environmental group. As a consultant, he has actively participated in private sector and public sector projects across Brazil.
Rodrigo Barfield is the founder of LLE US and Brazil based in New York. A serial entrepreneur, he has raised and managed more than $250 million in private equity commitments and has directly participated in more than $1.25 billion in infrastructure investments. Previously, Rodrigo founded Real Infrastructure Capital Partners, the General Partner and Manager of LRIF I, LP, a $120 million private equity fund focused on renewable energy investments across Latin America. Rodrigo’s infrastructure development career has seen him living on 4 different continents, 3 in the global south. He began his private equity career as a principal investor for EMP Global in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. He was also a staff Infrastructure Finance Specialist for the World Bank.
Gustavo Bazzano is Head of Business Development and partner at LLE Brasil. He started his career in the Brazilian electricity sector in 1997 and participated in several projects in Latin America and Brazil for companies such as AES and Brazilian and international concessionaires. He was a senior consultant for a global logistics company and helped lead the development of their logistics platforms in Latin America. He was also one of the youngest managers at AMPLA in Rio de Janeiro (now Enel S.A.). In addition, he is a technology entrepreneur who develops B2B SaaS solutions that serve the Energy, Telecom, Occupational Safety and Environment sectors with more than 30k active users and several multinational clients.
José Carlos Pinheiro is a Financial and Commercial Consultant for LLE. Jose Carlos has more than 10 years of experience in the energy sector, providing business development and capital services for companies and investors focused on the Infrastructure and Renewable Energy sectors. Mr. Pinheiro previously worked for several years at Engie, structuring and enabling the group's operations in the distributed generation sector.
Mr. Pinheiro brings his expertise in structuring energy deals, financial analysis and modeling, as well as negotiating and facilitating off-take and providing Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), and business development.
Eliane Maia, is the Head Administrator for LLE Brasil. Her role at LLE Brasil includes management of LLE’s finance and accounting.
Having worked in large companies and multinationals, Eliane is always seeking to optimize processes and improve results.
She has been active in office administration since 2001 and has extensive experience with corporate finance functions.
